auxl plug

Postby bubbzy93 » Thu Jul 26, 2012 11:49 am

I want to install an auxlliary power outlet (cig lighter type) in my gl1500. I have no problem in HOW to do it... just wondering on what the best location would be, I want to use it to power cell phone, gps, i pod, that sort of thing. Where have other wingers installed these?

When in doubt, floor it and get the he'll outa there

I put mine in the same place as the 1800's - I mounted it inside the left pocket, so the power plug plugs right into the back of the pocket.

Mine is in the left pocket also, that way I can put what ever I need in the pocket and plug in.

Bought a dual outlet for $6 on ebay and placed in left pocket. Easy to get power to devices and plugs stay dry under the cover.

Left pocket for me both hardwired thru a fuse to the battery. One for my Fm transmitter and one for my tender or GPS depending whether I'm parked or not.....Mike

To avoid any confusion I mounted one in each front pocket.
"It´s a friggen motorcycle, it´s not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you s**t your pants every now and then. "
