gl1500 reverse
when selcting reverse the bike moves 3 inches then stops, but if i take the switch behind the reverse lever off or remove the actuating cam/lever the reverse light doesnt light up but the bike will reverse, also the bike has a tendancy to shake the handle bars quite badly when going at 30mph or less and gets thrown off line by white lines so cant take one hand off below 30mph and difficult to filter through traffic, could it be the steering head bearings or do they all do this, also radio reception is quite poor and not very loud, thinking about fitting an amp to the system.

Re: gl1500 reverse
Regarding your "shake the handle bars quite badly when going at 30mph or less and gets thrown off line by white lines so cant take one hand off below 30mph and difficult to filter through traffic", I just had a new front tire put on my 1500 today and the shop is recommending that I replace the Steering Stem Bearings, saying that I have a shaking / shuttering movement in my front forks when ever I hit a bump in the road, did'nt really notice it until they said something, I thought it was just the plastic on my faring ratteling. $35.00 for the bearings, $300.00 for labor as thet say the entire front end will need to come off. Just a thought for your problem.

Check this out if you decide to tackle the bearings.
