LED'S

Postby bubbzy93 » Fri Aug 10, 2012 2:23 pm

This is kinda aimed at wingadmin because of his extensive knowledge on the subject. I have noticed that my side bag marker lights are staring to burn out, I haven't taken anything apart yet but I am assuming the bulbs will be the 194 wedge type .... here is my question, I want to replace every bulb I can with LED'S would the LED'S that work on the front fairing marker lights also work in the side bags? and also for the trunk? I want to order all of them at once so I can do all of this in the fall, and only have to take things apart once --- hopefully.
any help / advice would be much appreciated ;)

I'm not him but I found his "how to" post...viewtopic.php?f=14&t=11057

He likes the LED look..I kinda like the CCFL lamp myself that I did on mine...http://www.goldwingdocs.com/forum/viewt ... f=6&t=9280

The "wedge" bulbs (I believe they are 194's, if memory serves) are the same type as used in the front fairing marker lights...but a different color, obviously. That said, I HATE the little rubber wedge sockets they use to hold those lights, and have had problems keeping the LEDs in them and working well. They seem to work their way out over time. I plan to replace all of mine with strips of LEDs, like I did my saddlebags, fit that reason.
