1500 Charging fixed

Post by giturgun » Mon Aug 13, 2012 1:13 pm

Mine quit on Sat about dark, :x I called home and Patsy brought out the Jumper cables. Started up after a 10 / 15 min. charge and I rode it back home . I took a 1/2 day vac today expecrting to have to order a new alternator.
Got home at about 15 before 12;00 and pulled the left side and radio cover off. :o
Thenn unhooked the neg cable and the wires off the alt. :D I took it out and looked at the rubbers . They probably need replacing, but I will order them and do it later.
I took the alt apart and right away seen my grimlin. :o :o :o He was pulling in the back brush, So since I did not want to kill my alt with a well placed grimin killer 45-70 350 gn hp round. :geek: I grabbed the Carb cleaner and tried to drown him. :o He sneaked back behind the brush and I just repetedly pushed in and out with my finger . :D :D :D :D    Black blood was pouring out of the housing and when he let go of the brush it came out where it should have been.

Gotta watch for the Gremlins and if your stuff quits kill the LITTLE runt as U fix the problem/ It also helps to leave little scarecrow blood of the dead one to keep others away. :D :D :D :D :D :D

Anyhow I had the bike alt back in and running by 1;45 or so. Not to bad for a old worn out mechanic '

Now I gotta go and put the 200 plastic panels back on. But first the back brake is trying to be pulled in / or pushed out by , U guessed it another of the terrible road Grimlins. Guess I will have to kill again today.
See U and have fun'

The Phantom gray is not the fastest wing color , But it has been known to slip by quickly and appear in front of faster colors at times

I've been chasing gremlins for 40 years.I'm familiar with chasing the gremlin leaking compressed smoke,It's great to hear that you found one of them just bleeding.
It must have just been nicked.
By the way...Good job..Great post.

Well sir, you have quite the story telling background, and it gave me a good chuckle. I had the image of a germ running around inside your alternator squealing every time you shot the juice to him.So Cool. You should write a book. Ride safe.

Now it sounds to me like there's another one of those critters messing around in your spooge hole. Another mission awaits thee!
