Swingarm Replacement

Postby Kevin Ball » Fri Aug 31, 2012 12:01 pm

I wonder if anyone can help. The swingarm on my 1995 1500SE has rotted out and needs replacing, as the cost of a new arm in the UK is £749 (US$1180) I managed to get hold of one in near factory condition which came off a 1988 model, the question is, will it fit my bike, as looking on Ebay for new bearings, I noticed that there are different bearing sets for the 88-90 models from what is fitted to later bikes so is the swingarm compatable for my bike.thanks.

i just did a swingarm replacement on a 89 aspy using an arm from a 1995. the bearing are the same for all years.

the later model swingarms use a larger boot to acommodate the larger u joint

Thanks for that, you have put my mind at rest, and I can now go ahead with the repair with confidence that the replacement arm will fit/
