Does the starter spin when button is pressed. Can try to ratchet the reverse lever rapidly several times, but the absence of the light will not affect operation. Try to push the clutch lever forward to see if switch is bad and raise the side stand.

I seem to have a ghoast/gremlin. Went back next day, neutral light came on and bike cranked right up. Before starter wldnt engage. Sidestand dash light going on/off as I raise and lower stand, seems OK. Will ck clutch handle 2moro. Is there a relay that may have dirty/coroded contacts? THX again

This sounds like the reverse switch is contaminated and intermittent.
It's located at the reverse lever on the left side.

While you down that far and on that side of the bike it may just pay to clean the side stand switch as they get dirty and can cause a few minor problems leading to frustration until you clean it. Just a good squirt of CRC will do and then push the switch in a few times.

My neutral light is tempremental and comes on when it wants. First thing I do before even turning the switch on is to ratchet the reverse lever. By doing this first I have had no more problems with light. It has never affected the opperation of bike, just the aggrevation of hunting neutral.

The switch on the reverse lever was contaminated on mine.Same problems as above. It really needs to be replaced but in a pinch, I cracked the case open and hand cleaned the contacts, glued it back together.I'll replace it when i have enough down time.

Thank you all. Because we have rev. gear I've gotten lax about how I park. Can be very annoying when it does'nt work. Will start with a good cleaning and go from there.
