CB radio on 1500

Post by wing maniac » Sat Mar 20, 2010 4:22 pm

I have a friend who is looking to add a CB to his (I think) 96 Aspencade. I know where to get a CB and antenna but they told me the wiring harness would be hard to find. I thought that Honda installed all the harness' on the bikes so that all you had to do was install the accessories like the side markers and the saddlebags lights and such.

Hello Angel,

I've done this on a few 1500's. The only wiring harness that the bike is equipped with from the beginning is the connectors to the transmitter button. You need the harness between the CB and the stereo. It's very easy to put there, but you still need it. You also need the antenna cable going from the CB-antenna all the way to the CB, also quite simple to install. There are also three noise filters you need to fit, one for the alternator, one for the fuel pump and one for the air pump.

Good luck
