Carbon Canister

Postby mervk » Wed Nov 21, 2012 4:57 am

Hi all. Can someone advise me on the use of and importance of a carbon canister on my 93 1500? If one was missing and the connecting hose was blanked off, what would the consequences be?

Cheers

Merv

If my rememberer is correct the California models are the only models with the carbon canister. There won't be a problem at all.

It won't affect the function or performance of the bike in any way. The carbon canister is there to capture evaporating gasoline fumes from the gas tank, instead of releasing them into the air.

Thanks guys, that makes it easy. Fitting a sidecar, and no longer room for it. Japaneese import, by the way, so I guess they had them as well.

As usual, this site excels!

Cheers
