Replacing the mirror glass on a GL1500

Postby ghostvet » Fri Nov 30, 2012 11:52 am

Does anyone out there know how to safely remove the mirror glass, without breaking it of course.

There must be a way to remove the glass.

Thanks in advance.

I'd be very curious to find out if there actually IS a way to successfully remove the mirrors from their housings. I put LEDs in behind them when I lit up my bike. While I had the mirrors off, I looked and looked, but didn't see any readily noticeable way to remove the glass.

Keep the rubber side down.

Been there and broke the glass.

I figure it is held in place with some kind of adhesive. Maybe warming up the mirror with a heat gun would soften the adhesive enough to pry it out.
