1500 paint question

Post by hap2 » Tue Dec 11, 2012 2:42 pm

On a stock 1992 1500SE, what material is the brownish area around the radio dials just above the lid for the gas tank? Is it plastic The reason I’d like to know is because I want to touch it up with touch up paint & would like to know what kind of paint to get.. Thank you.

It's plastic. Can't say what type, but I would guess ABS. Here you can see the underside:

Not real clear on what area you want to paint, but they make face plates and or decals for the radio area....good luck

Hmmm, is this the top of the radio itself? If so I am interested cuz mine is now "rough", like almost peeling, but not quite.
