FRONT FENDER ISSUE

Postby RBGERSON » Sat Dec 22, 2012 4:24 pm

I was a very nice ride today..until my front fender just fell off..It looks like the plastic cracked along a line between where the two bolts that hold it to the tree and then it vibrated the rest of the plastic until it just broke. Anyone heard of this before?? It was on a smooth road, there was no evident of front end damage prior to this. The two small side covers on the rear fender were not on the bike but I doubt they could have caused this or helped it along.

Ideas anyone???

Do you have the fender extenders? They have been known to cause cracks and breakaways.

The world is not going to finish today, as it is already tomorrow in Australia and New Zealand, and other islands of foreign nations such as Guam and Samoa.

There is a chrome end cover on the rear fender but that one is OK it's the front fender that broke..It had a nose light installed on it and a fender guard otherwise stock.
