Pull back(actually foreward) the rubber cover.There is a allen head bolt in there.I think it's a 6mm.

just pay attention to how the spring goes in there, mine jumped out when I wasnt looking the first time and it took me awhile to figure out how it went back in. once the handle is removed the panel will come off over the shaft that is left there. Piece of cake really 8-)

You can see it on How to replace your cruise and sub air filters starting at step 37:

37. Peel back the rubber cover from the back of the reverse lever (if equipped). Insert a hex driver or allen key and remove the hex bolt fastening the reverse lever to the bike.

38. Remove the reverse lever from the bike.

It's a little more complex putting it back in. That little floating pin on the bottom side of the lever shaft has to fit into the hole below the shaft/turnbuckle on the bike in order for it to fit in correctly. Also make sure the lever is fully seated in the turnbuckle before tightening the allen screw.

The small pin can get bent if we forget to move the handle away from the bike before rotating the handle. If yours is bent beat it straight with a hammer before you reinstall it.
