headset cords 5 pin on one end the other end more

Postby RBGERSON » Thu Jan 17, 2013 6:20 pm

I have several "extra" cords that plug into the helmet side of the system..but they won't plug into my set up. The bike end fits into the standard 5 pin GL1500 plug on the fairing for the radio and CB system but the helmet end has 8 holes which match an eight pin connector on the helmet plug's cord.

MY system has the standard 5 pin at the bike end and 5 holes at the helmet end which match the 5 pins on the helmet cord.

Why the difference in the helmet end of the cords? Obviously I have two different cord set ups but why?

Every headset manufacturer has their own way of doing things in regard to the cord connection. Some are five pin, some more. My Nolan system uses a mini USB. You have to find the cord that matches your headset.

I have got a working set..but would like to sell the ones that don't match mine but would like to ID the manufacture or model or something. They are 5 pin at the bike end but eight holes or pins at the helmet end depending on whether we're talking about the actual helmet cord or the cord between the helmet cord and the fairing plug

It sounds like they could be J&M. Can you post pictures of the cable ends?
