1500 SE Idle adjustment knob completely gone!

Postby MDRanger » Tue Feb 12, 2013 4:33 pm

...so I am finished, all maintenance current, and ready to ride. I learn that the bike should be idled at 8500, mine is idling at 6700, and set out to adjust it. NO KNOB. NO evidence there ever was one. I go back to the Honda OW manual and there it is above the fuel cap and near the fuel filter that I just changed. Apparently the last owner tried to adjust it after it had frozen up and snapped it off. So.......Are there idle adjustment screws on the carbs independent of the factory adjustment knob interface which is now gone? IF so, which access most quickly exposes them? Under seat, under air filter, side panels? Thank you all. :o

Perhaps the carb rebuilder didn't route the adjuster properly. It just may be there but hidden.

adjustment knob found between air filter box and handlebars. Appeared after pulling the top cover off of the air filter box(again). :D Happy guy!
