Reverse issues

Postby gnholtz » Mon Mar 04, 2013 8:15 pm

19901500SE reverse will click in when lever is engaged and start button is pushed. But trike will only move about 2 inches and click back out. It will do this everytime I push the button. The reverse worked untill I disassembled the trike for paint . Thanks

The cable adjustment has not been changed and worked before plastics were removed for paint. Is the pin you are referring to the one on the shift lever that sticks in the hole in the plastic cam behind shifter?

Yep..also the switch could just be dirty and removing the plastic moved something..the wrong way. You have to take the lever off to remove the plastic right???

Thanks rbgerson makes sense I will check the pin today. Because if I remember correctly I had the lever in the up position when removed and I think it may have been in the down position when reinstalled. Is ther another hole behind the one in the plastic cam that has to be lined up with the one in the cam when pin is installed?

Checked pin today it was installed correctly. But I did figure out if I only pull the handle up about three quarters of the way it works just fine would this be cable adjustment? And if so why would removing plastics change this? Anyone have direction on how to adjust cables correctly? All help is appreciated.thanks
