COMFORT TECH motorcycle seats

Postby wiredgeorge » Sat Apr 13, 2013 10:13 am

See COMFORT TECH motorcycle seats on eBay but google searches of the net don't turn up any hint of a manufacturer. Anybody with first hand experience? They are called "custom seats" in most of the ads. I don't see them for sale outside eBay and can't find a review. The prices are probably less than what I would expect to pay for an NOS Honda seat.

First listing that popped up says they're made by Hartco.

I didn't see this in the eBay ads. I looked at the Hartco website and saw no mention of a "Comfort Tech" seat so can only imagine what level of comfort and quality it is made. I am not sure about Hartco seats either. I don't know anyone who has owned one. I have owned Mutang, Saddleman and Corbin. I recently sold a Saddleman as it was less comfortable than the stock Honda seat on my 1500. I am a bit put off by some of the prices by the big boys for their top of the line stuff.... geesh.

I can vouch for Hartco on a 1500.Been running one for 4-5 years.Leaps and bounds ahead of a good stock seat for the long haul.Reason I say long haul is because any seat feels good for a short time.

If I'da known it would last this long,I'da taken better care of it.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-GL1500-Go ... es&vxp=mtr

"This is a new Comfort Tech saddle. It is custom made by hand for the most comfortable ride while touring. This is an all-day saddle. This Hartco saddle will fit any GL1500 Honda Goldwing between 1988 and 2000. This new seat comes in beautiful high grade black vinyl. The seat is built for a man of 5'11", 190 to 235 pounds with a 32 inch inseam or better. It is comprised of a dual-density, self-comforming memory foam. It is designed o be an all-day, comfortable touring seat. This saddle is scooped out to protect your boney butt. It is wide for better leg support to keep the weight off your tail bone and "sits bones". It has a built-in, removable and adjustable driver's backrest with a pouch on the back for her to store her goodies. It also has a matching velour cover that pulls over the passenger pad so that it matches the new seat."

Sure sounds good.

That's about what I paid for mine new,but it doesn't much resemble mine.Sounds like the same add though.I've seen new stock seats listed for just over $200.

I have a Diamond seat on my 1500. The Diamond and Hartco are now made by the same people.
The seats are a bit different..My friend has a Hartco..We trade rides sometimes...
My Diamond is wider and deeper..But I am bigger than he is too so they are custom fit a bit...
Either one is better than OEM for LONG DISTANCE riding...
Break in period will be 1000 miles....
