Has anyone seen any information on a Dunlop Elite 3 MT Tire(multi-tread). There was a page in this months wing world showing it is available for the 1500's and the 1800's but there is no info on Dunlop's website, except for the full dresser Harley's. I have talked to 2 different Honda dealerships in different states N.C. and Va. and the parts managers in neither of these have any information nor have they heard of them. I am due for a rear tire pretty soon and wanted to at least give it some thought. Thanks Alan
Dunlop D407 tire is made from a reinforced multi-layer tire carcass that provides increased strength and promotes tire life. The rear tire features MT Multi-Tread technology by Dunlop. The technology boosts traction control and stability during braking through a durable tread compound positioned in the tire's center. The sides incorporate lateral-grip compounds to improve traction while leaning during cornering. Angled grooves line up laterally in the tire's tread pattern to dissipate water from wet roads.
OK here is the latest poop from Dunlop. The elite 3 multi tread tire has been available since January there were fliers and brochures given out at Daytona . If you order a Dunlop Elite 3 tire for a gl1500 you will get the new tire the old elite 3 has been discontinued, the only way you would get it would be your shop has some left on the shelf. This is information is direct from the Dunlop themselves as of 10:30 am this morning when they called me back. I hope this helps anyone that was interested. I am not 100% sure on the 1800's but pretty sure the same holds true.
