rattle in frount end

Postby stevemiller » Sun Apr 28, 2013 10:48 pm

There is a nasty rattle. Noise in the frount of my bike. I Muse rebuilt the forks and brakes.when I pull the front brake lightly it goes away.should I sand the sharp edges. Off before installing them? Could this be the rattling sound?

Is the rattle coming from the forks, or the brakes?
When you say you just rebuilt the forks, what all did you do?

The Admin had a caliper rattling somewhat too.Enough to vibrate his handle bars.
I think the master cylinder was at fault as it retracted the piston tn the caliper leaving a very loose assembly.Check your mount bushings and insert on the anti-dive coupler for excessive play.
The caliper should be free but not rattle about.
You can search for his post about the vibration.

I might have found the problem..I do not know why I never seen this when I re-did the front.
this has been welded and there is the wroung bolt and no spacer in the anti-dive.any idea where i can find the bushing for the anti-dive.I have a differant caliper ordered.
