Headsets

Postby Gordwing » Sun May 05, 2013 4:28 pm

I just bought new J & M headsets for my 92 aspencade, but they do not allow us to hear one another no matter what I try. we can listen to the radio no problem but it will not mute when we talk. All the buttons work except the XT button on the passenger volume control. Could that be it ? I think I tried everything else.Any thoughts out there?

I assume you have the intercom turned on, correct? Can you hear it get noisy if you turn the intercom volume up loud?

Not correct...the first dial on the group of five is for the radio, the second is to turn on/off the intercom...try turning the second knob...

I read my manual and made sure the buttons were both on with the mute level button in every position and still could not communicate or hear any mic noises.

Which model of headset did you buy? If it was one of the models that has components, I'd check to see if the mike wire is fully inserted. Do you have a buddy with a Wing that has a working unit you could try on yours and maybe try yours on their Wing?

I've been talking to J&M support and they're just telling me to try all the knobs. My manual will help me to trouble shoot.

Thanks

Personally I had found J&M pretty much worthless over all. Wasn't impressed with their headsets when I purchased years ago. I tried other headsets and finally went to bluetooth headset. No wires! Good luck on getting your's working! Do try on another Goldwing if possible!
