trunk removal

Postby robran144 » Wed May 22, 2013 2:50 pm

Has anyone taken there trunk off? how do you do it? My dad passed away in October so my mom wanted to keep the bike in the family so it was given to me. I am currently installing LED accent lighting and taking my time making sure all wires are ran and hidden well. Dad had a cd changer in the bike installed in the trunk and all of the cables are ran through the trunk. thanks

Other than disconnecting wires and cables...the trunk can be removed by removing the panel under the trunk (four screws) and the removing four bolts inside the trunk holding it to the frame. If you just want to temp raise the trunk to run wires..then wires and cables do not need to be disconnected

It's good to see that you are taking the steps to do this diligently and elegantly. I hope you share some pix of your end product.

Keep the rubber side down.
