Muffler mount bushings

Postby amsoilguy » Sat May 25, 2013 7:31 pm

While working on removing my rear wheel I noticed the rubber bushings in the muffler mounts are starting to come apart. Are these replaceable?

It would appear that these guys have them. This is only one parts place looked at, but you gan probably Google the part number and shop around.

Thanks Fiberthree! Hopefully I can figure out how to get those things apart...it's not real obvious.

If they are deteriorating just finish breaking them apart. To put new ones in, use some hand soap that comes in a pump bottle. It might be a little tough to hang on to but the soap is a pretty good lubricant that will wash off and not harm any finish on the bike.

You're saying it's possible to replace the rubber (#24) without having to remove the collar (#25)?

I'll have to go look at mine. At first glance it looked like the rubber bushing should be replaceable but the photo diagram makes it look like it is molded around something metal.
