Compu Fire Battery

Postby Kiwi2 » Thu May 30, 2013 5:17 pm

Good morning everyone.

I had to replace my compufire battery (can't get them in NZ) as it died. How long are they supposed to last as mine did just under the 5 years, which is about the same length of time as the normal battery. :(

Depends on how it's been treated. If babied and on a Battery Tender all the time, should last quite a bit longer.

Did you notice they are made by Yuasa. Same manufacturer as the stock wet cell.

I got a Motobatt and from what I have found on the internet they are made in China. They are a bit expensive here in NZ but so are the other makes. Anyway all fitted and the bike is go.

I also obtained from Australia three discs to fit the 1988 1500 at a total cost of $NZ350.00 which included freight from Aust to NZ. Here in four days. Front discs fitted new pads. Rear disc to fit. :D :D

Had I bought the Honda spec discs here in NZ it would have cost me $500.00 per disc and then fitting as well, and I would have had to wait months for them to arrive.

It really pays to shop round, and for those of us that can remember when there was no such thing as the internet you paid the price even though you knew you we being had.

The internet is a god send.
