Air compressor doeesn't work......HELP

Postby Tony Del » Mon Jun 22, 2009 6:39 pm

Hello Everyone,

I have a 96 GL1500 SE

I'm looking for a little direction here. I suddenly realized my air compressor is not working when I hit the switch. It will not increase pressure nor will it decrease pressure. I do not hear any solenoids click when I hit the rocker switch. The pressure shows on the dash when I hit the "pressure check" button.

Question. Is this more of the "switch" problem or a "compressor" problem or possibly wiring problem? I checked the fuse and swapped the compressor relay with no luck. I recently changed out the rear tire so I don't know if I did anything removing the wheel.

Hopefully somebody can give me some direction here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Tony

I hadn't used the compressor in a long time and after tearing the bike half apart tracing wires someone asked "are you holding down the pressure check button when hitting the compressor switch?" Duh (kicking myself hard)...that was it. RTFM I guess,

Tony
