Stator problem?

Lights got dimmer and dimmer and and the bike died. Had the battery tested and it would not hold a charge. Replaced battery and still have the same symptoms. Now I think the problem is the stator, am I right?

No stator like the older wings.Its a regular self contained bolt on alternator.
It does need a "trigger" wire,that goes to 12 volts with the key.
And yes it can be removed without removing the engine.
Mine just needed brushes,some have broken windings.
A regular alternator shop should be able to fix it up.
