GL1500 Headlight

Postby kirk flesher » Wed Apr 21, 2010 12:55 pm

hello all. i may be seeing things, but i need to confirm it. i usually run high beams all the time, and thought there were 2 bulbs lit. i've always had only 1 bulb lit on the low beam (since having my bike)

now i've noticed today that only 1 high beam was lit on the left side, and the low beam is lit on the right side. is this correct? or do i have both a high and low bulbs toasted?

if so.....am i able to get these bulbs at the auto store? (part #S)
and how much disassembly is required to replace the bulbs?
i remember a post saying to replace all of the spedo cluster bulbs while its' accessible
(if it needs to be removed), is this true? (part #s also)

thanks ,
kirk.

I believe both lamps on for both high and low.
check here for replacement procedures.

Dingdong is correct. There is a high beam and a low beam in each bulb. When you replace one bulb, I suggest you go ahead and replace them both. There isn't anything more aggravating than replacing one bulb and then a couple of week later having the other one go and getting to repeat the procedure.

Replaced mine a couple weeks ago . It is not bad or at least I did not think so. Seemed simple and was not nearly as bad as hooking up the light modulator was.
