Hello everyone, it appears that I am going to have to replace the right side switch assembly. has anyone else done this? and suggestions ,or things to do or not do while replacing this switch. do I need to remove the right side fairing to perform this task?

If the switches are sticking or hard to operate, this might help. I used a spray can of silicone with the small hose/tube. Just put some rags under the switches and spray any place you can get the tube into. This is not a permanent fix but beats the time it would take to remove and replace the switches. At the first sign of trouble, spray again.

I replaced mine when the kill switch failed. I bought one on eBay from an older model and it didn't have the illumination. The plug for the unit is located above the right side radiator fan and is a PITA to connect unless you remove some body panels. I removed the lower right fairing and also reached in through the fairing pocket to push the two halves together. Getting the wiring cover back on the handlebars is another fun task, too.
