Heat & smell

Postby Lebouc » Sun Aug 04, 2013 2:24 pm

Hi all , I have GL1500SE 2000 and recently I started to smell prestone more and more at low speed , but its not leaking , when I drive on highway I don't smell it and it stays very cool , but as soon as I get in town at slow speed , it starts to smell a lot and starts getting a lot warmer , not to the redline , but at 3/4 of the gauge .
Could it be the radiator cap not holding its pressure anymore ?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated , thanks !!!

P.S : Yesterday it leaked about a quarter of a cup when I turned off the bike , but only once , it hasn't leaked again , and I did about 400 kms , and stopped a few times since , I'm puzzled !!!

Check your plugs any of them look steam cleaned?? = head gasket..or pull the plastic and look for sediment on the engine..leak from hoses... overflow...cap...
