Handle Bar extention

Postby Dpope » Wed Aug 21, 2013 12:33 pm

Have a 1996 1500se and I am of short statue and need for the handle bars to come back about 2 inches, not sure this can be done easily. Hope someone out there has a solution for this problem,

They sell set-backs that fit the gl 1100's and 1000's 7/8's diameter so maybe they will fit if you remove the handle bar covers..

Moving/extending the handlebars on the GL1500 becomes a complex and expensive affair, due to the extensive cabling, tubing, etc., as well as the handlebar covers.

You might want to look at having your seat modified so that the back is built up a bit further forward, so it has you sitting closer to the handlebars. Probably a lot easier and cheaper than trying to modify the handlebars.
