audio connector

Do any of you know what the audio connector wire is for? It is located under the left side pocket under the left handlebars. You have to take the plastic basket out to get to it. I am not getting it to work with any audio player. 1998 Goldwing SE

What does it look like? A regular 3.5mm jack like that which would plug into a cell phone or MP3 player? If so, it's aftermarket - someone's add-on onto the radio, most likely.

I concur. Try plugging it into your 'regular' source of music (ipod, whatever) and putting a gutted tape in the tape deck. When the "tape" is playing, it'll be the music source that you hear...
...that is...IF that's how that plug was wired in.
Keep the rubber side down.

I have what you might think is a 2.5 mm audio plug mounted in the same area you are talking about. But, mine is connected to a Kennedy Cellset which is a cell phone adapter for the wing.

Follow the wire and see where it goes. That will be the best way to determine what it is to be used for.
