Headlight troubleshooting

Post by hap2 » Sun Aug 25, 2013 3:08 pm

All of a sudden, the headlight on my 1500 quit working...both high & low beams. All the other lights work, so that's why I don't think it's electrical. But how can I check it starting with the fuses?

I just got the bike a couple of years ago, so I'm not sure, but the light is/was bluishin color..that's not stock is it?

You may have to talk to me like a kindergarten teacher tho to help me understand.

Try using some safe-for-plastic electrical contact cleaner on/in/around the startee button. Spray it in there while pressing and releasing the button. The headlights are cut off while the starter is cranking and perhaps the button/switch is sticking and not releasing completely. Let us know what the final solution is.
