Lowering the speed the cruise engages

Postby Greenwinger » Mon Aug 26, 2013 9:09 am

I know there is a way to get the cruise to engage at a higher then factory setting. Was wondering if there is a way to get it to engage lower then the factory setting?

Not to my knowledge...A special circuit that would change the wheel pulses to a more rapid rate would be needed....The cruise system looks for minimum requirements to lock...RPM,wheel speed and gear selected(4th or 5th)...
Wheel speed is the last variable to deal with.

Isn't Cruise set to a minimum of 35MPH?

Not positive.I know mine wont set at 25.
I usually either settle in at 45 or 60 most of the time.Even at 45 there's too many distractions to let the cruise take control.
Darn stop lights and traffic.

My wiring was changed to allow me to set cruise over the 83MPH limit. I don't use it at that speed much, but it was nice when I did my Saddle Sore last year.

Ride Safe,
Rich
