Not a lotta help I can think of except that you have a good place to do it, tools and some manuals. Electrically speaking, whatever harness you have would be easier with it's own instruments. Not saying they couldn't be transplanted but one would hope you'd be up to the challenge because there would be a lotta changovers. Left over wires and missing ones. Being able to understand a diagram and doing what needs to be done without documentation. You're facing a challenge but it's a doable challenge. Make sure you're ready and momma can tolerate it. Good luck man!

HELP, trying to build a 1992/1998 gl1500

Hi Everyone, Posted this in the wrong place to start with so here goes again. I'm about to start a project which is gona be harder then it sounds I'm sure. I have a real nice Teal 1992 GL1500 SE with a messed up motor (took on water and now has no compression ) and a silver 1998 GL1500 SE with excellent mechanics, runs and drives great, but the body is banged up,lots of broke Tupperware and fairing. So....anyone got any idea of the challenges I'm up against? I want to move all the plastic and fairing and forks from the 1992 to the 1998, I think that would be simpler than swapping motors but I think the wirings all different and the instrument cluster is different (98 cluster is smashed). Any help from you folks out there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
