Goldwing 1989 Radio

Postby IBArider » Sun Sep 22, 2013 3:35 pm

Radio cuts in & out so I thought that there might be a short in the wiring but now the FM part of the radio has also stopped working. Does anyone have any clue as to what the problem might be?

When you say "not working" - you can't get it to function (won't tune, etc.) or it works but you just get static?

Sorry for the delay response as this is not my m/c but a friend's. The FM always has static
as if the antenna is not connected but that has ben checked. The intercom, AM radio and
cassette works as it should.

Assuming you've checked the antenna connections (tune to a known good, strong station, wiggle and twist antenna connectors to see if it comes in), I'd say the next step is to talk to Sierra MC. If it is internal to the radio (and it sounds like it may be), they will normally fix it for a $100 flat fee.

Thanks, Sierra Electronics is what I suggested as the problem appears to be inside the unit.
