Removing a cylinder head.

Post by wingman1000 » Sat Oct 12, 2013 6:44 am

Hi. Due to a silly mistake I have to replace some valves on my GL1500SE 1998. I am at present trying to remove the right cylinder head. I have undone all the bolts, released the exhaust system and inlet manifold. The head is sort of loose except there is a black, metal pipe which comes out of the back of the head. It is about 1inch in diameter and has another smaller pipe attached to it further into the guts of the bike. It seems this is stopping the head from coming off.

Any idea what this is and how to release it?

HELP!!!!

Best wishes
Chris
