Ignition trigger wheel

Anyone have an earlier model GL1500 with a hesitation issue, and want to try an ignition trigger wheel - for free? Let me know.

What are you reffering to as an earlier model? I have a 1990. And what is an ignition trigger wheel? I have some hesitation, but I just assumed it wass because I need to do my plugs and timing belts.

He's referring to the 88 and some 89 model years.Mother Honda did come out with a cure back in the day and I would assume that by now most if not all have had it done.If a hesitation has developed since then it's more than likely rotted hoses at the carb/intake area(pretty common and there are lots of hoses) or the carbs just plain need rebuilding.

Because it is free and I'm not going to ruin a sale for Scott I have to say this about the wheel.I had an 89 until recently and I did a lot of reading about the wheel. Some thought it was better with it,but for those people I'm wondering if was just masking the problem for a short time. The reason I say this is that there are lots of both years of Wings out there with no hesitation at all without the wheel.Like I said I did a lot of reading and I think that about the only thing that everyone agreed on was that it did make the bike harder on fuel.
If I'da known it would last this long,I'da taken better care of it.

I have an '88 and a buddy of mine has had wings since the beginning of time he has been trying to convince me I need a 4 degree advance trigger wheel. I've only been able to find a 6 degree wheel on line I have no driveability issues. I know from experience that increasing the timing will increase power and improve fuel mileage a small amount but it also increases the possibility of spark knock and engine damage. I was wondering bumping up the timing by that much if I will need to run higher octane fuel? Honda's replacement trigger wheel was a 4 degree wheel without a need to increase octane. Also is the power increase worth the cost of the trigger wheel? Any info would be appreciated thanks.

Hi Wingadmin. I would like to try the trigger wheel for free if you still have it?
