My New Wing Story

Postby jajeanquart » Sat Nov 02, 2013 3:42 pm

Hello everyone......posting a message so I can enter the contest for the prize I'm going to win
Previously, I rode a 1982 Interstate, but not for long, as the dreaded stator came into play............I figured if I walked past the bike everyday, it would fix on Craigslist appeared a 1991 Interstate with 50 thousand on it and I was able to steal it (i think), for 2300.00.. with floorboards, air wings , trailer hitch/recv, and minimal added chrome...the previous owner now lives in Florida, and the Wing is in southern Wisconsin, and he didnt want to mess with the shipping costs for it.. so.....Tomorrow a 200 mile round trip to go get it and bring it to its new home
In the meantime........I ordered the repair manual, new brake pads, oil, filter, and Gates timing belts for it..........last thing I hope it needs is the new Dunlap tires it will have soon..........
and the old 82 Wing to be parted out on Craigslist cheaply............paying someone to do the repair using Honda parts would have been 900.00...

Congrats on the new wing.
Hopefully, the previous owner used Sta-Bil in the gas if he stored it for any length of time. The 1500 suffers from idle jet clogging if stored for several months without stabilizer in the fuel.

Marvel Mystery Oil, Seafoam, Techron, Gumout are all good products to use to help clean out the carbs.
