Cylinder head fitting

Postby wingman1000 » Fri Nov 08, 2013 11:01 am

Hi all. I am about to refit the right side cylinder head to my GL1500SE 1998 vintage. There is a small water seal at he top of the head. Which way round does this seal fit and are here any special precautions on fitting it; any suggestions about sealant etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Chris

The seal I am talking about is item 25 on the attached picture (thanks to Partzilla for the diagram). The tube with the seal fits into the cylinder head but is easy to catch and damage. Hope that helps to explain the problem.

If I remember correctly, part # 25 is an O-ring. The old part is probably cracked or broken. Remove tube bolt and pull out and replace part. Clean away any debris from opening to avoid bamage to new part.
