Will a windshield off a 1996 Goldwing fit on a 1998 Goldwing SE

The guy that had it before me, cleaned it improperly and it has scratches on it............... is there anyway to polish it up and remove most of the scratches.

Yes, the windscreens are interchangeable.

They all will develop scratches/swirls over time. That's why I like to be able to see over the top of the windscreen for safety reasons, especially if it fogs up, or are riding at night facing oncoming traffic. Add rain into that mix and you'll understand.

For routine cleaning I use Plexus and a micro-fibre cloth. Under no circumstances use Rain-X. Not designed for plastic windshields.
