GL1500 Air suspension wiring

Postby soldier1228 » Tue Nov 26, 2013 5:45 pm

I purchased a 1991 Interstate that has all the air suspension parts needed but no wiring (that I can find). It has the air shock, pump, solenoids and air control switches. I've looked at the harnesses on the bike but can not find any connectors. It doesn't appear that any wires were cut from the harness. Does the air suspension have it's own wiring harness? Was air suspension standard equipment?
Puzzled!!!!!

1991 Interstate did not have reverse, cruise (I think) or air suspension. So the wiring harness will NOT have had wiring/connectors for air suspension. Is your bike perhaps a Frankenbike?

The bike does not have cruise or reverse. Very strange that everything is there but wiring and no.5 relay. The curcuit doesn't appear to be very complicated. I guess I could attempt to make it work. Any other thoughts?????

The Interstate model was considered the 'bare bones' model in the 1500 lineup, lacking many of the features that came standard/could be ordered on the Aspencade, or standard feature on a SE.

Save your time and effort.
I very rarely change the pressure setting on mine, once I have them set where I want them.
Just use a small bicycle hand pump to adjust yours (right saddlebag) where you want them, then forget about it. ;)

Course .... anything can be done if your pockets are deep enough! :D :D
