92 paint colors?

Post by Melloreel » Tue Jan 07, 2014 4:00 pm

Getting ready to repaint mirrors due to previous owner putting a green one on. Bike is candy spectra red. Is this paint 3stage? Base, paint and clear? Aerosol cans are 34:00 each. Little much for mirrors. Is there another color, car, bike paint that would match?
Also want to repaint exhaust guards, but can't find a paint code for them? Currently silver? Are they clear coated as well? Is this a standard Honda silver paint. Maybe that's why no code?
Trying to refurb without spending a fortune in paints.

Thanks.

My local NAPA store can match paint with the color code...My code is inside the fuel door on a sticker...
There are on line vendors for paint too...gotta get the number first.

Thanks Virgil. I have the codes, but the paint cost are high. Maybe I will try the napa route.

= to $60 in the UK with shipping, popular cheap suppliers cannot mix paint for Goldwings, just a rip off, nothing special about the paint. worth buying, I had to buy spray paint after dropping a pannier lower cover, so I sprayed my exhaust guards body colour while I was at it, they looked much better. I have since chrome plated them. after sanding I always apply a very thin coat of self etching primer, to make sure the undercoat adheres properly.
