GL1500 1989 RADIO frustration

Postby callieh » Fri May 07, 2010 6:45 am

My radio is one of THOSE that only will work on signals between 76.0 FM en 90.0 FM. Or something like that. And I need it to operate up to 108 FM.

So what to do ?

- new HONDA GL radio (lots of money - not worth it I guess)
- a quick fix eg :
- range increaser or something - will that work ?
- - take deck modifictaion to slot a ipod / fm radio into ?
- a whole new radio fitted to the bike, with mods to cover the opening and empty spaces ?

Suggestions ?

You've got a Japanese-market radio. As far as I know, they can't be modified. Depending on how much you want to spend, you could:

a) find a used tuner module on eBay or from a used parts place
b) just ignore it and put a satellite radio or iPod in its place

I'd probably do both. :)
