1998 GL 1500 OEM Clutch Lever Needed

Post by Doug B. » Mon Feb 17, 2014 7:33 am

So where can a person order a clutch lever (OEM prefered) that one knows will work properly? I have the factory black levers on my new to me GL1500SE. Just need the clutch lever and would like it to match.

Thanks for the help!

This part is readily available from any of the usual online parts dealers like bikebandit and the like, but you'll spend more on the shipping fees than on the part itself. Just go to your local motorcycle dealership and order it there, give them the few bucks it costs and let them eat the shipping fees.

NOTE: you'll want to also replace the pushrod bushing which resides in the lever, the new lever will have a new pivot bushing integrated with the actual lever, but the other bushing (for the pushrod) is prone to wearing out and causing issues with cruise control engagement, finding neutral while stopped, lurching into gear or while just stopped....
Keep the rubber side down.
