After removing the alternator from the engine, there was about a teaspoon of oil in the circular bottom section of the engine case. I realize there is an O-Ring that's part of the alternator lip which keeps oil from escaping and dripping out, but is this normal to have oil in that area? Should the oil seal be replaced that's in behind the rubber dampers on the engine side of the alternator? This bike is a '92SE with 85,000 miles on it, and I'm replacing the bearings, brushes and rubber dampers in the alternator just as a matter of maintenance, hopefully to avoid a failure of some kind later on.

Alittle oil there is normal.
