GL1500 year groupings

Postby Firea100 » Sun Feb 23, 2014 9:49 am

Hi to all on the site! I've been looking around the site for a chart or something that would tell me what year wiring loom (main and rear ones) are compatable with a 1991 Aspencade. Can't seem to find any definitive asnwer. Would like to start buying the parts to put her back together but want to be sure that I purchase the correct looms. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Larry in East China Mi.

From what I've found years 88-92 all have different part numbers for the wiring harness, this would mean they are different. Years 93-97 all use the same part number and 98-2000 all use the same part number.

If I had to hunt for a new harness I would probably just get any of the same year SE versions, or the next year above, with an SE harness you would have the plugs there for the extras whether you use them or not, like for reverse, PTT, side marker lamps etc. Buy one made for an Interstate you will not have those bits and plugs for the extras.

Thank You for the advice. Yep, too many plugs... ok, too little... not so much!
