Timing belts and importance
so I bought a 1998 gl1500 late last fall and on advice of people on here I decided to check them before this year ride, I actually thought about not worring about it! Well the bike has 100,000 on it and the old owner said he never change the belt. so I took off the covers today and wouldn't you know they are orginal belt and are really loose the right side cam was off almost a hole rib... it didn't slip but I could if any more stretched .... So please guys and gals if ya get a new to you Goldwing no matter what the old owner says check the belts its worth the time.... and thanks to this site for the step by step instructions on how to do the belts

Re: Timing belts and importance
I used to change the belts on my previous GoldWings between 75 and 100K and that worked out well for me.
