Plugs, air cleaner and keep up the tire pressure...something like 40 rear and 38 front...

Everybody gets different mileage...some report "I get 32 MPG" and another says "but I got 55 MPG"
If the bike is running clean(you'll know as soon as you inspect the plugs)..don't fret about it but do inspect the plugs....there's a "How -To" all about that...If they show a problem, then address it.

I ride about the same on my 88....It runs very very nice too...The plugs are a light tan...
I quit checking my mileage some time ago....
It seems to vary from 30 to 39 MPG....too many variables to keep track of....
If I'm aggressive it's low(that happens often),in the 30's....I don't like cagers too near me..
Easy moderated driving(to stop the squealing from my passenger)it runs about 35 MPG....
I just fill up before the red line..it usually takes a bit over 4 gallons and I see around 140 miles on the clock.....
I do run at sea level and the gas blend at different stations changes mileage too...even from winter to summer blend....
By the way....I run regular 89 octane even tho it's stamped on the bike to use 91....
It may improve with 91 but I'm really not that interested.

ok so got home and took the aircleaner off and started bike up and when I look down into the carb with bike running when I crack the throttle the left slide moves but the right one didn't move at all... so I reached down and when I tried to slide it it didn't slide very good and got stuck wide open... So I put some seafoam down on slide and got it to loosen up and slide really easy liken there is just the spring tension but when I start it still don't move at all! any tips?

Sounds like you have found a problem. I hope that is the only one. But good sleuthing. It is much better to be methodical in your diagnostics than have stuff flying everywhere, and then not remembering what you changed.

This is what it look like before I cleaned the right side so you can see that air has not been going buy for a long time. and the bike started great and ran good going down the road1 except for fuel milage was terriable and it really took a bit to get around a car if I gunned it. just thought I would post a couple of pics incase you guys have trouble give ya something to see and maybe help if your fuel milage drops a lot

+1 to rescue1042. Always good to know what problems people are running into and, more importantly, what the fix was. Thanks for sharing.
