tire pressure

I have a 1993 Goldwing with 47000 mile on it . I put 42psi in rear tire ,me and wife went on a ride and came back home ,check the tire again it had almost 50psi in the tire, why is this? any comment.

Because the tire was warm after the ride, whereas it was cold before the ride when you 1st checked the tire.

Go out and check it again in the morning, before you ride and compare it

Yes indeed.I got me a TPS thingy.I preset 40 rear and 38 front.
Interstate yesterday...rear climbed to 47 and 137* the front went to 42 and 82*
All is well.
