Stereo / CB / Intercom question

Postby Uncle Fester » Thu Apr 24, 2014 7:44 pm

Ok all, I have a question for everyone. . . I am thinking about changing out the stock stereo to a after market head unit in much the same way that BANDIT did in this thread
( viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7974 ) with the reworked stereo cover and such.

I understand I WILL loose the intercom, but what about the CB ? Will it still function or do I loose it too ?

Right now this is in the idea stage, but this info will help me decide if I start planning, or go another direction.

THANKS in advance !

Stock CB is interlocked with the radio.

I'm thinking this may be a great replacement for the stock stereo unit. I was thinking of mounting the head unit to a abs plastic molded insert for the radio and mounting the control unit under it where the stock radio unit sits.

Overall Size of Commander Unit: 5.12"W x 3.7"H x 1.21"D
- Overall Size of Tuner/Amp Unit: 8.35"W x 7.97"D x 2.39"H

What's the opinion of the people here?

VERY INTERESTING . . . . I will be doing research on that right away ! Jensen has always been a good stable brand, I would trust them as a general rule.
