Fitting a CB into a 2000 Aspencade

Postby polar1940 » Sat Apr 26, 2014 2:10 pm

After looking through endless E-Bay listings and looking through Google searches I have purchased a Hondaline CB and a plug that I'm not too sure if it will fit.My question, is there any baftermarket kit or another way I can get the handle bar controls and antenna and wiring plug in without going through one piece at a time for these items at a higher cost? I know there has to be a lot of junk bikes out there that have this kind of stuff inventoried for better ease of fitting these older bikes with the original CB's.Also seems there is three in line filters also, how hard are these to come by?

Seeing how the Aspencade didn't come with the CB your most likely going to have to add the CB controller. If your look into the salvage years make sure the bike is an SE model, this will have all the needed wiring to interface into your Aspencade. If your going to purchase these from a dealer expect to pay about 500.00 for the controller and wiring harness. This is the part number: 39200-MAM-506

The Aspencade DOES NOT come with a cb ? I did not know that, my '96 Aspencade I just bought has a cb with the controls on the left handlebar, and main unit down by left knee. Did my bike come from the factory like this or did the PO do a killer job installing it ?

My bike also has front and rear intercom and rear volume controler.

It was an option, and often installed by the dealer.

The CB was a dealer installed option on all models
