Postby furnacedoc » Sat May 10, 2014 12:23 pm

Hello , I have bought a new start switch/cruise control assembly after trying to clean and repair the old one . how hard is it to replace this switch assembly and how much of the fairing and plastic do I need to remove to do this?. Has anyone else done this?

Been there, done that, except I did the left hand control as well at the same time.

Not so bad a job, probably about 3 - 4 hrs, seeing all you are doing is the right hand control, which only has 2 connectors above the right fan. The left hand control has 3 connectors which connect into the connector banks above both fans.

Toughest part is accessing those connectors!

Easiest/quickest way to do it so you have good access to those connector banks, is to remove the ducting that run beneath the fairing pocket.

Read about it here
